g'day mate

It has been a busy past few weeks. A few weeks ago I went to Sun Moon Lake (about an hour and half drive from my place in Taichung) because my roommate Josh was in a Triathlon event as well as a few of my other friends. It was a beautiful lake, and I got to swim in it! Sun Moon Lake
This past week I got a chance to visit Sydney, Australia for a few days.
It is winter in Australia, so it was pretty cold. The first day, I basically walked all around the city. It was great to see the city by foot, but pretty tiring. I visited the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay Wharf, DSC04095.JPG DSC03796.JPG
And The Rocks, Darling Harbor, City Centre, and the Sydney Aquarium. DSC03830.JPG
The next day I visited Bondi Beach.DSC03882.JPGDSC03879.JPG
Then I took a ferry ride from Circular Quay, DSC03908.JPG and then I went to the Sydney Olympic Park, where the 2000 Olympics were held. DSC03924.JPG
But it was then also that my right knee started to give me some problems. I think I might have sprained my LCL in my knee, because it was really difficult to bend my knee to walk the entire trip after that, and I still had a lot to do. But I continued on trying my best to walk past the pain. That night I went to Hillsong Church's college-aged service on Friday night called Powerhouse. They had great music and they had a guest speaker for the weekend, Erwin McManus, the pastor of a church in LA called Mosaic. DSC03945.JPGDSC03946.JPG
It was a great night. The next day I went on a tour of Blue Mountain, the local mountains around the city. It was awesome, I got to see a lot of great sights, although walking through the mountain trails was a bit of a challenge because of my knee. I also went to a wildlife park and saw kangaroos and koalas. And I rode on the steepest railway in the world. DSC03963.JPGDSC03961.JPGDSC04043.JPGDSC04076.JPGDSC04052.JPG

It was a great trip, I thank God that I have gotten the chance to travel as much as I am able to. And also that my mom works for China Airlines. (if you want to see more pictures go to my flickr page, I took a lot of pictures)
These past few weeks I've also gotten the chance to lead a few sessions of the Chung Hsing Bible study. A few weeks ago, I shared a message about suffering and trials and yesterday I gave my testimony and a led a discussion time. It was really fun and great to see people getting it when it comes to following Christ.
This morning I had my phone interview for Talbot School of Theology. It went pretty well. Let's hope for the best.

Please keep praying for the ministry here, especially with the relationships I've made here. And also that I would be able to continue supporting myself financially here.

I miss you all,
Wes
